The Tavern

You start in a bustling tavern. A timbered building with a smooth stone floor. A fire roars and crackles in the large stone hearth surrounded by rowdy dwarves and discarded tankards. One side of the hearth has a busy halfling barkeep pocketing silver pieces for golden ale. He wears a collection of strange charms and trinkets. You sit to the other side just by the fire, nursing a freshly poured stout. Its notes of caramel and citrus marry well with the steaming bowl of oatmeal and honey sitting on the small table in front of you. You take your first bite. It is then you hear an elvish patron on a nearby table whisper that a band of goblins have amassed in the nearby forest…
